Good work,
every time.

Web Design. iOS & Android design. Creative direction.

20 years Still curious.

porcupine colors is a web design & development studio and the creative face of Yiannis Konstantakopoulos since 2006.

My work involves designing websites, apps, and digital services. Design is a broad term: it has to do with colour, fonts, and layouts, but also with measurement, the analysis of user behaviour online, and the optimisation of digital products. And somewhere in all of that, it also has to do with code — primarily HTML & CSS.

A significant part of the practice is art direction — finding the visual language that makes a project feel genuinely itself. Not just attractive, but accurate.

I work as a freelancer and as part of teams, depending on what each project calls for. The work ranges from helping small professionals get effective visibility online to participating in startups.

I also write and speak about the work — in books, at events and workshops. I enjoy long-term collaborations and aim to work with the same people for many years. I'm certain that we can keep learning and improving for as long as we want to. And finally, I believe there's always room for good humour in any collaboration.

How I work

Hard Work

No shortcuts, no half-measures. Every project gets the full treatment — the research, the unglamorous iteration, the 2am question that turns out to matter. It always shows.

Serendipity

The happy accident that arrives when you've done the work. You can't manufacture it. But you can stay awake enough to recognise it when it comes.

Good People

The best work comes from honest, warm collaborations. Life is short. The quality of the people you work with shapes everything about what you make together.

"Yiannis always seemed to contribute more than was expected both in terms of good ideas, solutions and hard work."
